GDance are seeking new Trustees

An appeal has gone out for a new trustee to join the board of Gloucestershire Dance.

GDance, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, is renowned in the UK for its groundbreaking work with disabled and disadvantaged dancers and choreographers.

Based in Colwell Road, Gloucester, it has been the dance launchpad for dozens of people who face disabling barriers, and has won a host of accolades for its productions, dance films and training.

Its most recent production was Stuck in the Mud, a dance show which was performed at Hidcote Manor Gardens in the Cotswolds and at Blackfriars in Gloucester.

GDance Chair Anita Syvret would like a new board member to join the charity’s trustees.

“GDance is a fantastic charity which does brilliant work. We’d like to add to our board to make sure the staff have all the support they need,” said Anita.  “The tasks are not onerous and the rewards are many.”

Board members, who are not paid, attend about six meetings a year which are held on weekday mornings. Anyone interested should have an interest in dance or the arts. Management experience would be an advantage.  A background in law, finance, education, HR or disability would be particularly helpful.

Anyone interested should contact as@syvretmedia.co.uk or call 01242 228539.
